A great turnout of activists and supporters, who came to hear Dr Michael Snee, Consultant Oncologist at the LGI  speaking from first-hand experience about the current state of the NHS including the disastrous consequences of the internal market. He described exactly why an insurance-driven market such as that in the US wastes resources: clinical need can be eclipsed by revenue-earning opportunities for hospitals and staff, whilst those without insurance – or the right insurance – don’t get the care they need.

David Yellen then spoke with great passion about the need to properly resource and fund public services, for the benefit of all.
