Thirsk & Malton Labour
Dan Jarvis MP writes “I have visited Malton many times over the years and it was a particular privilege to meet CLP members when I visited earlier this year.
I really admire and appreciate fellow members who work hard for Labour in areas like North Yorkshire, where to be honest, it can be harder going than in other parts of the country!
You may know that before being elected as a Labour MP, I served in the British Army. I remember from my service that undermining the enemy’s morale was a key battle tactic. In the military, as in politics, getting people to believe that they can’t win is a powerful weapon.
To that end, I know that dubious claims from the LibDems that only they can win are aimed as much at Labour Party members as at the public. This was a tactic they unsuccessfully deployed in the Mid-Bedfordshire by-election!
In fact, they do it all the time to sap our will to fight and, of course, the Greens now copy it. Self-belief is vital – so please don’t let our opponents grind you down!
Good luck and thank you so much for all your hard work!”
