Malton/Norton and North Ryedale branches got together to start a “community action group” to tackle the increasing amounts of litter in our area.  “We’re hoping to make this a regular activity”, says organiser Steve White, “and we’re looking for members across the constituency to nominate an area they’d like to see cleared up and join in with us on the day”.  In the first session on 7th March it took just 2 hours to collect 20 or so bags of rubbish, with recyclable plastic and glass separated from general waste, from just one lay-by on the A170 near Kirkbymoorside. The team plan to make this a regular monthly activity, so if you can spare time to help please get in touch with Steve – email address as per the “Contact” page.
