Your Candidate for Thirsk
Justine McNichol is standing for Thirsk to stand up for our community.
As a small local business owner and mother of a young child, she knows all too well the challenges we have all faced over the last year. Justine says that “Our community has proved itself to be resilient, collaborative and caring and it’s time it was rewarded with a council who invests in and cares for its people”.
She believes that our County Council should listen to its residents, be open, transparent and collaborative. A digital marketer by trade, she understands the vital importance of clear communication and if elected, would be fully committed to fostering an environment in which the residents of Thirsk know their voices are heard.
Anyone who knows Justine personally will know that she is aa huge advocate for small business. Frustrated at the disproportionate lack of financial support for Northern businesses through the Covid-19 crisis, she raised tens of thousands of pounds to support small businesses and continue to raise funds, provide support and advocate for small businesses and disadvantaged communities in the North of England through her work as Director of Love The North CIC.
Raising a two-year-old daughter in this beautiful part of the world, she is completely invested in the future of Thirsk and that includes our natural environment.
Justine says “The burden of the alarming climate crisis is on individuals and business but also on the government and local authority and if elected, I will continue to actively campaign on environmental issues“
