Your Candidate for Pickering
Alan Avery has lived and worked in Pickering for most of his working life. He has served on the Town Council and has been a governor at Pickering’s Junior and Lady Lumley’s school which his three sons attended.
He was the Labour Party’s candidate for the 2015 and 2017 General Elections.
If elected to the County Council, Alan’s main concerns would be the eradication of rural child poverty, the support of our High Streets and for Pickering in particular, the improvement to our infrastructure to make the town more tourist friendly. This would involve support for local businesses and the attraction of new businesses with high-quality jobs. He would also support the drive for a park in the town.
