The TUC’s national demonstration in London last Saturday, 18^th June, was very impressive. It was big, very positive and indicated considerable resolve by many unions to take both private sector employers and the government on over pay and jobs. The speeches were excellent, very motivating. A lot of women Union leaders and local activists spoke and there was a sort of handover of leadership of the TUC from one woman, Frances O’Grady, to another, Sue Ferns. The speeches were live streamed through the TUC Facebook page where you should still get them.  There were no Labour Party  speakers although Angela Raynor was present at the head of the march alongside Frances O’Grady.
