Labour’s Candidate for Malton Ward
I grew up in Sherburn, Ryedale, was born at Malton hospital and attended Malton Secondary school. After leaving for university and the start of my career in teaching I returned to Malton, after 11 years, with a young family and eager to make a difference in the town I love. My family has a long history of public service, nursing, the police, social services, the armed forces and campaigning for public services and social justice.
Returning here as a father I am comforted to see that a lot of the good things about Ryedale are still the same. However, it troubles me greatly too to see that many of the problems are still present as well. Poor planning, social inequality and poverty, and a Council that does not show long term commitment to addressing them. I want a better Ryedale for my family and all the families in our area.
