Labour’s Candidate for Hovingham
I have lived in the small village of Butterwick near Brawby for eleven years. A mother of three grown children I value the peace and tranquility that comes with living amongst the people of Ryedale.
I feel privileged to live in a beautiful rural village but am acutely aware of the struggles that are associated with living here. The paucity of public transport, difficulties of access to medical services or support, and the lack of affordable housing for young people wanting to set up home and stay in their community.
I work in Scarborough commuting daily by car and train. I help provide outreach and clinical services for people suffering from problems of addiction running clinics in Pickering and Malton.
Through my work, I see the suffering caused by the policies of this Conservative government to those who do not have a voice and cannot fight back. I feel passionate that local government services must be defended. Ryedale cannot only be for those rich enough not to need the support of public services.
