We Are Campaigning

Just days after formal adoption of our candidate by the NEC we were on the streets of Malton campaigning. The street stall in Market Place was very well received. Our candidate David Yellen is liked by people who stop to talk. His passion comes across clearly  and through being visible in public we are recruiting new members. We have a huge task to overtake the Tories in Thirsk and Malton but we have made a strong start. We have just four weeks to build on it.

Come and meet David at one of the following events. Bring non-members who you know to be supportive. These are opportunities to find out about our policies and campaign, to recruit new members and to get help with the campaign.

11th Nov. Easingwold. 7.30 Easingwold Methodist Church, Chapel St, YO61 3AF,

12th Nov. Allerston. 7.30 Allerston Village Hall. with NHS Speaker Dr Michael Snee.

16th November. Filey 2.00pm.  Three Tuns Hotel, 10 Murray St, Filey YO14 9DG .

The result of this election will determine the way the country is heading for some time. Labour must win to save us from a right wing government subservient to the USA. We urgently need £1,000 to enable us to complete the campaign we have planned. Many thanks to those who have already donated generously. If you haven’t yet you could do it now using this donate button.

National Polls Going Our Way

Labour has cut the Conservatives’ poll lead according to the latest survey by Opinium for the Observer, published at the weekend. The Tories still hold a 12-point advantage over Labour but their lead is down four points since last weekend. The Conservatives now stand on 41%, down one point on a week ago, while Labour is up three on 29%. The Liberal Democrats are down one point on 15%.  Opinium’s latest data suggests Labour may be stemming the flow of both Labour Leavers to the Tories and Remainers to the Lib Dems. Some 66% of Labour Leavers now plan to vote Labour, up nine points compared with a week ago, and 48% of Labour Remainers are planning to vote for the party, sharply up on last week. See Guardian Report.

What We Stand For

Our manifesto will be published next weekend. Meanwhile there is a good indication from the 2017 Manifesto and the Press Releases which come out daily. The Party has also recently issued a useful briefing on Key Messages. Attached.

Corbyn Rally? – Yes but when?

It is highly likely that in his whirlwind of non-stop campaigning Jeremy Corbyn will be making an appearance in York or Scarborough or both. However these events are kept under tight wraps until shortly before they are due. As soon as we get any information we’ll pass it on but it would be a good idea to keep your ear to the ground using social media. You might find out before us. Please let me know if you do hear anything.
