Labour’s Candidate for Derwent Ward
I have lived in Ryedale for twenty two years. I’m a mother of two children and a professional willow weaver. I run a rural woodland craft business with my partner and have my own basketry business.
I believe in creating a community that works for everyone and supports the vulnerable. I feel strongly that local council budgets and services must be defended.
Rural isolation, lack of public transport, shortage of affordable housing, access to NHS services, adult social care, cuts to education and children’s services are all serious issues and challenges that need to be met.
There is a great need for voices and decision-makers with care and compassion on our Conservative-dominated council. We need members who passionately believe in fairness and equality for all. I can be one of those voices.
